One of the most important features of the Material You theme is the dynamic color system, which allows you to personalize the color scheme of the theme to your taste. This can be achieved by selecting the desired color scheme when setting the wallpaper in the system settings, as shown in the figure.</p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKq_Nt_QGkX0WenmTiGfWHXyaxoLLczZ31iJYobQxXefJsKsDlJlVWN3vKwiBDeu7XlafJB434t16tSkyMF8tQ2P19wiYMOTnMz0maJWeRcNivKjUfykBLRGZ5EtPBJMd7yLvltDC7ewuDbgohHe8i4-FVRp-Ai1D55k6YOlWfRdB12ov5FvbwR32SMh4/s2160/Screenshot_20231104_143524.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2160" data-original-width="1080" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKq_Nt_QGkX0WenmTiGfWHXyaxoLLczZ31iJYobQxXefJsKsDlJlVWN3vKwiBDeu7XlafJB434t16tSkyMF8tQ2P19wiYMOTnMz0maJWeRcNivKjUfykBLRGZ5EtPBJMd7yLvltDC7ewuDbgohHe8i4-FVRp-Ai1D55k6YOlWfRdB12ov5FvbwR32SMh4/s320/Screenshot_20231104_143524.png" width="160" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Dynamic color system of Android 12</div></td></tr></tbody></table><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p>You can find more information about Material You design at the following article.</p><p><a href="https://medium.com/design-aware/everything-you-need-to-know-about-material-design-3-afdc3f1e8f15" target="_blank">Everything you need to know about Material Design 3</a></p><p><br /></p><p>The newly released Square Home (version 3) fully supports Material You's dynamic color system. Square Home version 3 provides the option to dynamically apply the color scheme of your system to the first 9 tile styles out of a total of 15 tile styles. Here's how to apply it.</p><p>1. However, for this feature to work fully, all installed apps must offer a monochrome icon, and many older apps (even newer ones) don't offer a monochrome icon. However, Square Home gives you the option to create monochrome icons for these apps as well. To apply this,</p><p>1. Open the Home option.</p><p>2. Go to the "Icon style" section.</p><p>3. Go to Home options > Tile sizes and styles > Background effect and select one of the following effects.</p><p><br /></p><p>1. It displays continuously useful information on tiles in real time with charming animations. There are several ways to make tiles "Live" on Square home as well. I'm sure you could make your home awesome by applying the following ways.<br />
<br />
<br />
1. Displaying notifications on tile<br />
<br />
When you get a notification from an app, you should expand the notification panel from the status bar to see the content. Now you do not have to pull down the status bar anymore because Square home displays the notification on the app tile that is added into your page.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq2C_zpbS7_qLDoc2BQy10JOi2MXKH_QRJsGEGfGajVzstaqtX3uCtKs1GpKaoe3qLlZCrH1frkgLQc0kmhlyEEySran4MnoI7P6XgsRG9caekJh2fpOk8TLLBpPRXKeVaQ4SacKqBd0U/s1600/notifications.png" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="241" data-original-width="720" height="107" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq2C_zpbS7_qLDoc2BQy10JOi2MXKH_QRJsGEGfGajVzstaqtX3uCtKs1GpKaoe3qLlZCrH1frkgLQc0kmhlyEEySran4MnoI7P6XgsRG9caekJh2fpOk8TLLBpPRXKeVaQ4SacKqBd0U/s320/notifications.png" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Notifications on tile</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
To activate this feature,<br />
- go to "Live tile" in Home options.<br />
- select "Notifications".<br />
- enable Square home in the notification access.<br />
<br />
The app icon and notification text are switched continuously on the tile with some cool animation. If the notification contains a picture in its content, it will be displayed as a full image on the tile as well. If you dislike showing the notification text and picture, just turn on "Notification text off" and "Notification picture off" respectively in Live tile options.<div><br /></div><div>* Troubleshooting: If the notifications stop showing on the tile even when you enabled Square Home in the notification access permission, it's because the background service gets killed for some reason. Please check your battery saver option for the app in the system settings in this case. Since some manufacturers' devices may have more system options like "Auto start" to keep the background service alive, try to search the solution for your device on the Internet.<br />
<br />
<br />
2. Media controller<br />
<br />
This is another cool feature of Square home, which is activated on a media app tile when it is playing music or video. A lot of media apps such as YouTube, Play Music, Poweramp are supporting this feature.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNOGofC37zZtnDoBIfIVitpMVLDVlNrvBOOmQ9-vlwr5FfJFGeVG-KsqWNiiZf5yuXM3h98oHzAKWjg1mHTECUg5L1Iqh32BDKsZwQjY0pHVCkjEfZFymH0acv9EuIYLnTjLpOoj1sdL0/s1600/mcv.gif" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="401" data-original-width="401" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNOGofC37zZtnDoBIfIVitpMVLDVlNrvBOOmQ9-vlwr5FfJFGeVG-KsqWNiiZf5yuXM3h98oHzAKWjg1mHTECUg5L1Iqh32BDKsZwQjY0pHVCkjEfZFymH0acv9EuIYLnTjLpOoj1sdL0/s200/mcv.gif" width="200" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Media controller on Play Music tile</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Just turn on "Media controller" in Live tile options to activate this feature.<br />
<br />
<br />
3. Built-in widgets<br />
<br />
Square home supports following built-in widgets to show useful information. Those widgets consume low battery and works very efficiently.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEia-jae9-hxhFOxv-HhlnMjyVsJjxLUtRRqLUEHwK-n5tplut4pixEC5H43hCjdfXgVg0iOlDP4ZqTgBLm4gImHu3y0klxHENf5HHIVzygwLomelPLBYvnbtNDCBN4dimj7kGFWIonzFTw/s1600/device-2020-05-16-134213.png" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1480" data-original-width="720" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEia-jae9-hxhFOxv-HhlnMjyVsJjxLUtRRqLUEHwK-n5tplut4pixEC5H43hCjdfXgVg0iOlDP4ZqTgBLm4gImHu3y0klxHENf5HHIVzygwLomelPLBYvnbtNDCBN4dimj7kGFWIonzFTw/s400/device-2020-05-16-134213.png" width="193" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Built-in widgets</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
From the top in the above picture,<br />
Analog clock, Clock, Calendar, Event calendar,<br />
System monitor, Battery circle, RAM circle, Storage circle, SD card circle,<br />
Photo slide, Compass, Flashlight.<br />
And more built-in widgets will be added in future updates.<br />
<br />
<br />
4. 3rd party widgets<br />
<br />
Since there are tons of 3rd party widgets in the store, just choose one of them for your purpose. For example, if you want to get weather information in real time, just select a weather widget you like from the store and add it into the page.<br />
<br />
To add a 3rd party widget to the page,<br />
- press the "+" tile.<br />
- select "Widget".<br />
- select "Android widget".<br />
<br />
Some widgets might have margins around and it looks a little ugly.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF25jQrdkw3hsWe42NSQzXopa9nYVt_ydJNktSqpzkdPnWeU31H912wl8xfxyMI6tDq4X9TkK51RRHirn_SVHz_35wzo0gAxSN_gUxr-6_Tto-O9xovp3ZufTCJw6ynRfacC3gfdfrrrM/s1600/badmargins.png" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="481" data-original-width="720" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF25jQrdkw3hsWe42NSQzXopa9nYVt_ydJNktSqpzkdPnWeU31H912wl8xfxyMI6tDq4X9TkK51RRHirn_SVHz_35wzo0gAxSN_gUxr-6_Tto-O9xovp3ZufTCJw6ynRfacC3gfdfrrrM/s320/badmargins.png" width="320" /></a></td></tr>

<br />

You can cutout the margins by setting negative values to "Margins" of the tile options.<br />
<br />

Since some basic features like searching items, putting it as a page and quick scrolling work the same way as the app drawer in <a href="https://squarehome2.blogspot.com/2019/03/some-tips-for-app-drawer.html">this post</a>, I'm going to give you several tips for contacts specific features in this post.<br />
<br />
1. Long-click call<br />
<br />
You have this option in Home options > Contacts and it is on in default.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMs1_WVxDyxEV8TKqKYZ9IwXWAg3ut8pmOuRqlf2cJEbLvoxGvUzCTGDwVvadcm5fJ1ojALF2cuMAl76Uq9lA9T5U1ScnpzMwddxPLuhXfMNDX5nqA6XNUv0KSLEzVn7ofoLwKWGuTk60/s1600/device-2019-12-05-134844.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1480" data-original-width="720" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMs1_WVxDyxEV8TKqKYZ9IwXWAg3ut8pmOuRqlf2cJEbLvoxGvUzCTGDwVvadcm5fJ1ojALF2cuMAl76Uq9lA9T5U1ScnpzMwddxPLuhXfMNDX5nqA6XNUv0KSLEzVn7ofoLwKWGuTk60/s400/device-2019-12-05-134844.png" width="193" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Long-click call option</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
When the option is on and edit mode is turned off, you can long-press a contact in the contacts page to call it directly. When you have multiple numbers in a contact, it calls the default number, which can be set in the edit of the contact.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV13Sl9a8QVEQlZYjMjD7v6oVKKPayehk-n-a0iYCf-Da0O9_uL0wH0TArJfaQCgXd-QF7ZdONNyA6MMKTU1t7jka18LvfHsZIu3_2MEU_sAYvmLfQ4TszSIR5fCHri20IH3tv5CxZUe8/s1600/device-2019-12-05-145051.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1480" data-original-width="720" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV13Sl9a8QVEQlZYjMjD7v6oVKKPayehk-n-a0iYCf-Da0O9_uL0wH0TArJfaQCgXd-QF7ZdONNyA6MMKTU1t7jka18LvfHsZIu3_2MEU_sAYvmLfQ4TszSIR5fCHri20IH3tv5CxZUe8/s400/device-2019-12-05-145051.png" width="193" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Setting default number</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<br />
2. Managing favorites<br />
<br />
Do you know that you can set a contact to your favorite and list up those favorites only? To make a favorite contact, just toggle on the star that is on the right side of the name in the edit (take a look at the above screenshot). After you made up your favorite list, toggle on the star button on the bottom menu bar of the contacts page to show up only the favorites.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMigqlmIHzX9vuKnYPlBY_HpwZ5dNIxcSMFpnyqXq70yfjs1Btaw3sX2wMDFhx0gf0WJKn_PvbdcWWXqsmzfABAmjXyFNFgPzIz-CdCQVeE72aLzTHlXsH_BxJTxhb73JP0xVtYcR2n8o/s1600/device-2019-12-05-151103.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1480" data-original-width="720" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMigqlmIHzX9vuKnYPlBY_HpwZ5dNIxcSMFpnyqXq70yfjs1Btaw3sX2wMDFhx0gf0WJKn_PvbdcWWXqsmzfABAmjXyFNFgPzIz-CdCQVeE72aLzTHlXsH_BxJTxhb73JP0xVtYcR2n8o/s400/device-2019-12-05-151103.png" width="193" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Favorites only</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<br />
3. Adding a contact tile to the home<br />
<br />
If you have some contacts that you use too often and want to add them as tiles onto your home, there is a easy way. Just long-press and drag one of them from the contacts page and drop it onto your home. Don't forget edit mode should be turned on to do this. It's easy, isn't it? Oh, long-click call feature is also supported on this tile, of course.<br />
<br />ChYK the dev.http://www.blogger.com/profile/18107775419102005361noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2925314086655696970.post-21026859733340463642019-08-21T01:23:00.001-07:002023-07-21T21:49:20.399-07:00How to Cut/Copy and Paste TilesHave you ever used "cut/copy and paste" feature for tiles? If you have never tried that, let me teach you how to do it.<br />
As you know already, to make some changes in your layout, you should turn on the edit mode first. You can easily toggle on and off the edit mode in the page manager that is open by pinch-in gesture.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxhbX-9X7rFWKuEKm_4JPef91bQUdz-TmEcJbbp09WX6J3_BRXlimvLSfgVIAt-ZJmslNbYeJc6JWfqQ-WbFdpbj36a52jXKuBabpCRufbVT0dcR2bclMrg7L7q7Hb5AuDhQc4gD6xly8/s1600/device-2019-03-08-141555.png" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="720" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxhbX-9X7rFWKuEKm_4JPef91bQUdz-TmEcJbbp09WX6J3_BRXlimvLSfgVIAt-ZJmslNbYeJc6JWfqQ-WbFdpbj36a52jXKuBabpCRufbVT0dcR2bclMrg7L7q7Hb5AuDhQc4gD6xly8/s320/device-2019-03-08-141555.png" width="180" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Page manager</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
When you toggle on the edit button on the bottom, you can see the "+" tile in your page layout and edit something.<br />
<br />
<br />
1. Selecting multiple tiles<br />
<br />
Let's try to long-press a tile on the page. You will get some buttons on the tile like this.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH-iMP6w0lgNdjR6-Lr7AyKHH_A82_K_V-u2V8wCFP-HzMx_0OdEY6_ySYnmVcJ39INDYyUpiKvT2X7QBQs04eJbCn-jPyd3CE6LYXyU3-ZkJRU92BDIxWg2lTtBRCZi6K4rcBXTHdKek/s1600/1.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="342" data-original-width="352" height="193" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH-iMP6w0lgNdjR6-Lr7AyKHH_A82_K_V-u2V8wCFP-HzMx_0OdEY6_ySYnmVcJ39INDYyUpiKvT2X7QBQs04eJbCn-jPyd3CE6LYXyU3-ZkJRU92BDIxWg2lTtBRCZi6K4rcBXTHdKek/s200/1.png" width="200" /></a></div>
<br />
To get in the selection mode, press the green multi-select button on the center. As soon as you get into the selection mode, three buttons (Style, Cut and Remove) appears on the top of the screen and you can tap each tile to select or deselect.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
2. Cutting selected tiles<br />
<br />
As you saw already, there are three buttons on the top in the selection mode. The first one with pallet icon is to change the style of the selected tiles and the last red one with trash can is to remove them. Here we are talking about the second one with scissors icon to cut the selections.<div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>3. Copying one selected tile</div><div><br /></div><div>When you select a tile that can be copied, you'll see a copy button aside cut button at the top. Some tiles from 3rd party widgets or app shortcuts cannot be copied for the same reason that they cannot be restored from a backup.<br />
<br />
<br />4. Paste tiles<br />
<br />
When you have tiles cut, pressing the "+" tile shows one more item, "Paste", in the popup menu. If you want to paste the tiles onto another page, just press the "+" tile on the page. If you want to paste the tiles into a tile group, open the tile group and then press the "+" tile in it. If you have cut only one tile, you can paste it onto a cube by pressing the "+" on an empty face. So easy and clear, isn't it?<br />

In this post, I would like to let you know some tips for the app drawer that you might not have noticed yet.<br />
<br />
1. Smart picks<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
As you already know, it picks up your favorites apps to the top automatically when you set "Sort order" to "Smart" in the app drawer options. By the way, have you guessed out that the top apps are picked differently according to some situational factors such as newly installation, current time of day, your location, or whether your headset is plugged or not? Your favorite apps can be different depending on it's day or night, at home or at work, and with your headset or not. The app drawer of Square Home analyses your use cases based on the situation and picks the most proper apps to the top. You can change the number of top picks in the app drawer options.<br />
<br />
<br />
2. App search<br />
<br />
To search an app quickly, you click the magnifier icon on the bottom menu bar of the app drawer and select a index letter. By the way, have you ever tried to sliding on the index letters? You don't have to click twice (one tap on the magnifier button and another tap on the letter) to search apps! Just slide your finger from the magnifier buttons to the letter to search.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzsGEO9DrXc1CIvFFEFcAFGupuQMpR7vvBdsqf_bhf4yMN8_F9r6ndb3Ev_SVF_AOCkKBQLu9C6CkrFDOE7pNiGH3d7vzfnv1e3x0Kh3psTgtUuaU4lKeZTyTziMULBQ6QzUdVepw2z6c/s1600/device-2019-03-29-163338.png" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzsGEO9DrXc1CIvFFEFcAFGupuQMpR7vvBdsqf_bhf4yMN8_F9r6ndb3Ev_SVF_AOCkKBQLu9C6CkrFDOE7pNiGH3d7vzfnv1e3x0Kh3psTgtUuaU4lKeZTyTziMULBQ6QzUdVepw2z6c/s400/device-2019-03-29-163338.png" width="225" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Sliding on search index</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
Another good feature is that it searches English names of apps as well if your language is not English. For example, my language is Korean and I have 3 map apps named 지도, 카카오맵 and 네이버 지도. Their English names are Maps, KakaoMap and Naver Map respectively. When I'd like to access one of those apps, I can search them just with the letter "M".<br />
<br />
If too many apps are searched up from one index letter, select "..." for multiple letters search. You can make it default search method by turning off "Use search index" in the app drawer options.<br />
<br />
<br />
3. App drawer as a page<br />
<br />
Many users are asking me how they make the app drawer sliding from the right side like Windows phone. There is a perfect way to do it. You can put the app drawer "as a page" in the right side of the home page. Please refer to the item 2 in <a href="https://squarehome2.blogspot.com/p/faq.html">FAQ</a> to know how to add a new page.<br />
<br />
<br />
4. Quick scrolling<br />
<br />
If you want to scroll quickly to the position based on the initial letters of the app names, just slide vertically on the right edge of the app drawer. This feature is available only when you set the sort order to "Smart" or "Name".<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

Have you set "System wallpaper" enabled for your home screen?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If so, how do you set the tile effect and styles to match well to your wallpaper?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There is a simple and well-known solution to do this as you know already. It's using several tile background effects in Home options > Tile size & style. Take a look at these screenshots where "Blurred" and "Transparent" effects are used respectively.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4rpzeSDnGXRFRPLNF69OfeTXqxf89SlcCq5L0EYGC0NT27oTAbGGqyr2WhtyP-90vmmeWAdFRpWvg2K9RJztgBBtFKAtaqPwVdw2fD9PPX2uvRJ-f6uShmoqwU4xNko6LrWg5OzZuBB4/s1600/device-2018-12-07-160153.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="720" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4rpzeSDnGXRFRPLNF69OfeTXqxf89SlcCq5L0EYGC0NT27oTAbGGqyr2WhtyP-90vmmeWAdFRpWvg2K9RJztgBBtFKAtaqPwVdw2fD9PPX2uvRJ-f6uShmoqwU4xNko6LrWg5OzZuBB4/s400/device-2018-12-07-160153.png" width="225" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_dlAnbWILibTuRIijpvR_t26q7PC6f9CTVkMRJOy1VQ5efRuK47OBFHJ0MBY11DvxmRqYt_7RKgihS4snQscn5tlHg4hOTY0_oeFRQaxZk3r2g34f6fLYOwskjEvhzQDJl0up4qKNY9U/s1600/device-2018-12-07-160638.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="720" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_dlAnbWILibTuRIijpvR_t26q7PC6f9CTVkMRJOy1VQ5efRuK47OBFHJ0MBY11DvxmRqYt_7RKgihS4snQscn5tlHg4hOTY0_oeFRQaxZk3r2g34f6fLYOwskjEvhzQDJl0up4qKNY9U/s400/device-2018-12-07-160638.png" width="225" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another way is just disabling effect and applying translucent styles to tiles like in this screenshot.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9yRbCDqOc31i0S609JyaQBNX6Nh_tbhXOVTDUowEltTl88jifO_DtluZedMgy7DjoKHfuKAxVaZnp1-IwWQa8PHM7Ntx4T68RUX8upPDPYVnNaz3bDbC-z4NyenW5SSStQZRIQwapla4/s1600/device-2018-12-07-161020.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="720" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9yRbCDqOc31i0S609JyaQBNX6Nh_tbhXOVTDUowEltTl88jifO_DtluZedMgy7DjoKHfuKAxVaZnp1-IwWQa8PHM7Ntx4T68RUX8upPDPYVnNaz3bDbC-z4NyenW5SSStQZRIQwapla4/s400/device-2018-12-07-161020.png" width="225" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
However, I think it's a little bit still boring even though they are great features that cannot be found in the other launchers. You might want to make it more colorful and fancy. But selecting tile colors to match them well to the wallpaper is pretty hard and annoying.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There is a good solution in the case. Just try to turn on "Colors from wallpaper" in Home options > Tile size & style. It overrides the first 9 tile styles with the colors extracted from the current wallpaper. Here is an example where some of the tiles have the extracted colors and the others are set to the 14th style with a translucent blank color (I made it more transparent).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEyD4gWQWebsSO_mZpUMJw6Z2U1r49UXaxqS9BIuaFQ18aSu2-iLf8G_tyL7VN_c3uvLzzwAOBMjNJYvxSTo2-P6XRlIWeMLkTNmZBCIF6t9A2YsxL7MtXbpHCJRJ7H-2DVgNh9xPvltw/s1600/device-2018-12-07-162446.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="720" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEyD4gWQWebsSO_mZpUMJw6Z2U1r49UXaxqS9BIuaFQ18aSu2-iLf8G_tyL7VN_c3uvLzzwAOBMjNJYvxSTo2-P6XRlIWeMLkTNmZBCIF6t9A2YsxL7MtXbpHCJRJ7H-2DVgNh9xPvltw/s400/device-2018-12-07-162446.png" width="225" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Does not it look good? You should consider that I have very poor design sense.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There is another advantage on this approach. When you would like to change the wallpaper, just do it. You don't have to edit again the tile styles to make them matched well to the new wallpaper. Remember that it extracts representative colors from the current wallpaper and override the first 9 tile styles with them. The translucent black color will not be changed because it is the 14th style.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You can let the wallpaper automatically changed everyday from your photos by turning on "Daily wallpaper" that is in Home options > Behavior & UI. And it would pair well with this feature as well.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I hope this tip will help you enjoy Square Home more.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Thanks.</div>
